Online Gaming Gives Guernsey’s Economy a Significant Boost

According to a study performed by KPMG accountants, online gaming proved to be quite beneficial to the economy of the islands of Guernsey, which are located in the bay of St Malo in the English Channel roughly 30 miles from the north coast of France and 70 miles from the south coast of England.

According to the study a grand total of $75 million (or £50 million) was contributed by the online gaming industry to Guerney’s economy in 2009. This is a significant growth compared to 2007 for example. In 2007 the online gaming industry contributed only $10 million (or £7 million) to Guerney’s economy.

The KPMG report estimates that over the next two years, the online gaming industry will contribute even more to Guerney’s economy – 40% more to be precise.
