Global Cash Access to Start Field Testing New Product

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has given Global Cash Access (GCA) unanimous approval to start a field trial of a new product. This means GCA, a global provider of innovative cash access solutions and data intelligence for casinos, will soon begin field testing its new QuikTicket product in Nevada. As GCA explained, the fact that the NGCB approved the field trial is a big thing; it is an important step towards commercializing this new technology.

“We are very pleased with the decision and look forward to QuikTicket's beta-testing in Nevada,” commented President and Chief Executive Officer of GCA, Scott Betts. “Today's consumer is accustomed to cashless transactions, as evidenced by the increasing use of debit and credit cards in all areas, and we believe this technology represents the next step in the evolution of cashless gaming. QuikTicket will provide a convenient, efficient and safe option for patrons to fund their gaming activities, while providing casinos additional options for limiting their vulnerability to theft and reducing cash handling costs on the casino floor.”

QuikTicket is a product meant for casino patrons – when the patron conducts an ATM transaction, he has options at his disposal. The patron can either receive cash, or he can receive a slot ticket which he can use directly in an electronic gaming device, or redeem for cash. According to GCA, by using QuikTicket both the patron and the gaming operator benefit from enhanced security. Furthermore the gaming operator will see cash handling expenses go down by using QuikTicket.

If the patron wants to exclude himself from access to his own funds, he can easily do so since QuikTicket provides support for GCA's Self Transaction Exclusion Program (STeP).

The field trial of QuikTicket will commence once GCA has gets all the required approvals from VISA and MasterCard and once a beta-site to conduct the test is selected.
