Choctaw Casino Resort in Oklahoma City will be host to the Shawn Marion Celebrity Poker Tournament, a Texas No-Limit Hold-em tournament that will kick off on Saturday the 14th of August, an draw to a close the next day on Sunday, the 15th of August. Poker champions and reality TV stars Annie Duke and Tiffany Michelle will attend the two-day event – other celebrities will attend as well, but they will be announced at a later date.
Anyone can participate in the tournament as long as they pay the $250 buy-in. According to the Shawn Marion Celebrity Poker Tournament organizers, it is estimated that 300 people will participate in the tournament.
What are all these participants competing for? I believe the following prizes deserve mentioning:
- An all expense paid trip to a Hawaiian resort
- A seat in the T.J. Cloutier Choctaw Casino Classic
- A seat in the 2011 World Series of Poker
All proceeds from the poker tournament will go to the Shawn Marion Foundation and will be used to aid the organization in its mission to provide life-changing opportunities and experiences to single parent families.

The Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant Oklahoma, a $300 million resort, was inaugurated back in February. The resorts’ new Poker Lounge is home to 30 poker tables, 20+ flat screen TVs and a private lounge with full bar service.
