There are many reasons why people play craps at an online casino. The biggest (and probably the best) reason is the potential to win large amounts of cash in a very short period of time. While the strategy here is not going to win you huge amounts of cash, it will help you realise small, consistent wins online.
If you know the general rules and understand the game, you are in great shape to play online. If not, you need to start playing online and learn some of the different bets before you take your game to the next level. There are only two bets you need to play online when first starting out.
Start a game and place a pass line bet. Place $5 on the pass line and roll the dice. When your point is established, place your odds behind the line. For the purposes of this example, place $5 behind the line too.
Let’s say on the first, or “come out” roll, you established a point of nine (9), what this means is that you will need to roll a nine again, before the appearance of a seven, in order to win. While you are still learning the rules of the game, this is the only bet you need to make in craps when playing online, unless you want to be a bit more aggressive.
If so, play the field. What this means is that anytime a two, three, four, nine, 10, 11 or 12 is rolled, you win. Don’t play anything else until the online version of the game becomes a little more realistic in the natural appearance of sevens.
It doesn’t get any easier than the above two bets. Pass line with odds and throw in a field bet for “a little more action”. Keep in mind, while the field bet is one of the better bets online, it’s not one of the best bets in the brick and mortar casinos.

Playing casino roulette has many similarities to playing online. That said, casino roulette is also vastly different than playing online. The basics of the game are the same: use your chips to place a bet, watch the wheel and ball spin and determine the winner. The odds are generally the same in both casinos and online and both places offer prizes.
One of the differences in playing casino roulette as compared to online roulette is the atmosphere. If you play online, you are playing from your home or office with minimal distractions. At a casino, you can expect the loudness of the environment to be a great distraction (along with other distractions put in place by the casinos to keep you off guard). At the same time, however, the fun and excitement that comes with casino roulette is part of the fun. You are playing casino roulette in crowded rooms with alcohol flowing freely and people are out to have a good time. This is something you simply cannot get playing online.
The vast differences between casino and virtual roulette are outstanding. Perhaps this is the reason that so many people prefer casino gambling to Internet gambling; virtual gaming just does not have the same flair and excitement as being in the atmosphere where the stakes are high but everyone is having a great time. Nothing quite compares to the thrills and cheers of playing casino roulette.

In early 2007 the largest ever study into online gambling was published by eCogra. This study compiled details of more than 10000 players from 96 countries. There are several findings worthy of note - this article will look at the traits most likely to be associated with winning online poker players, and will suggest ways for aspiring players to improve their performance.
1) Winners Play At More Sites
Playing at more than one site can have several advantages. Firstly the selection of games and number of tables to choose from. Secondly many sites offer regular bonuses - a player who is able to take advantage of several of these by rotating site will obviously benefit financially.
2) Winners Do Not Chase Losses
The natural variance of poker means that it is difficult to make every session a winning one. The survey found that not chasing losses (for example by playing at higher limits or taking risks to get even) is a significant predictor of success.
3) Winners Put Less Of Their Bankroll On The Line
While losing players often play with more than 20% of their bankroll on a single table the survey found that winning players averaged no more than 7%. This can be seen to reduce the effect of the swings inherent in the game. Interestingly those who played with less than 2% of their bankroll on the take were not as successful.
4) Winners Listen to Music
Listening to music while playing was a big predictor of financial success. This finding could also be reversed - those listening to music may be less likely to be watching TV or holding conversations while playing… concentration being the key factor.
5) Winners Multi-Table (To A Point)
Multi-Tabling predicted financial success and can be correlated with confidence and focus on the games being played. 4 tables was found to be the optimum number - adding more tables then showed a decline in profits.
Finally a mention of a big predictor of losing internet poker players - pretending to be the opposite sex. It was found that 12% of male players choose an avatar of a female, and that these are the biggest losers of all in financial terms!!

If you’re new to playing poker, or just want to hone your skills, the best place to go is a good internet poker room. There you learn the rules of every game from Texas Hold’em to Seven Card Stud and Omaha. You can also get instructions from the poker professionals who know everything there is to know about poker odds, poker betting, and even bluffing. For example, you can learn when the poker odds are in your favor when you look at the first two cards you are dealt in a game of Texas Hold’em.
You can also learn how the poker odds will change depending on which cards are then dealt face up in the flop. You can register free at a good poker room and begin learning the games immediately. Then once you become familiar with the poker odds and rules, you can practice what you’ve learned in the free poker room. There you can get more instructions about things like when to bluff and how to tell if an opponent is probably bluffing. You can improve your skills at an individual table or in a tournament format. You can practice as often as you want for as long as you want.
Then when you’re ready to try your hand at playing the poker odds for real, you can deposit money for betting into a completely secure account and begin playing immediately. The best part is; you can play when you want form any location you choose. Check out a good poker room now and start placing your bets.

Texas Holdem is a game of perception. If you have a big hand you want your opponents to think you have nothing so you can get more money out of them and if you have nothing you want them to think you have the best hand possible. Well, your position that you are sitting in at the poker table contributes to your overall perception as well. Sometimes it’s a positive contribution and sometimes it’s a negative contribution. So before you make your next bet in a Texas Holdem poker game, you may want to take a look around the table and recognize all the factors before you bet.
On the Button
Being on the button means that you have the dealer button in front of you. Traditionally this is the most powerful position to be in at the table. The reason this position is so powerful is that the person that is on the button is the last player to act after the flop is shown. You can see how this would be an enviable position because you get to see what everyone else is doing before you decide what you are going to do.
Many times a poker player that is on the button will have the opportunity to steal the blinds as well. This happens when there is no action on the table (everyone in front of you has folded) and the only players left in the hand are the player that is on the button and the big and small blinds. In this particular situation, it may be a good idea to test the players in the blind positions by raising on the button. The object of doing this is to have the players in the blind positions fold their hands without seeing the flop. It is good poker strategy to try to steal the blinds whether you are holding a good hand or not. Once again, poker is all about perception.
In the Blinds
If you are in either the big blind position or in the small blind position, you are traditionally called “out of position”. This position is called out of position because it is the weakest position to be in because you are the first to act once the flop is shown. If you are playing a hand while in one of the blind positions just keep in mind that you are the first to act and an experienced poker player will know how to exploit this information.
You can also choose to use the big or small blind positions to your advantage. As mentioned earlier, the blind positions are traditionally the weakest players at the table because they are the first to act once the flop is displayed. Some poker players think differently. Some players think that the first person to act has the first chance to bet and that is a good thing. An aggressive player will take advantage of this opportunity even if they have missed the flop completely.
Hint:
When you are in the blind positions, try to utilize the continuation bet. This is a great tool that experienced poker players use at the right time in order to collect pretty sizable pots. If you are in one of the blinds and a number of people are in the hand but no one has raised the pot, what you would do is raise the pot a significant amount (maybe 3-5 times the big blind) in order to get rid of any of the marginal hands that might still exist. Let’s say you get one or two people that call. Since you are first to act, you would use this to your advantage by placing another significant bet after the flop is displayed. This will immediately get your opponents to think that you have some type of huge hand like two aces or two kings. Usually, if the others hit nothing on the flop they will gracefully lay their hands down. Once again, you can do this with any type of hand because the perception is that your hand is huge.

To me, roulette is a perfect example of the concept of probability. A wheel that is covered by numbers, with a ball spinning around it, that could land on any random area at any given time. The concept of probability stirs up a lot of controversy, especially when it comes to gambling. Is it possible to develop a winning system to beat probability? The short answer is no, because probablity is random and cannot be predicted. The long answer, however, is yes, because you can sometimes use probablity to your advantage, especially when it comes to the game of roulette. Heres how to use probability to win more often in the game of roulette.
Tip One - Place More Bets On Even Money Payout Gambles
Even money bets offer a larger chance of winning money. Chances for success are up to fifty per cent, as opposed to 1 in 37 betting on single numbers on the European roulette table.
Tip Two - Wait For Sequences To Occur
If you see black, odd, or 1-18 occuring five or more times in a row, its time to start placing bets on the opposite result occuring. Although you will not win all of the time using this strategy, chances are that you are going to win more times than you lose. How often do you see black or red coming up more than six times in a row? It doesnt happen very often.
Tip Three - Be Patient
The worst thing you could ever do in a gambling situation is lose your cool. If you get angry, anxious, or stressed, you are going to start placing stupid bets. If your emotions start to take over your reasoning, you will start to deviate from your betting plan, which will usually cost you all of your winnings.
Probability is not a straight forward science, however, it can certainly increase your chances of winning if approached in the correct way. Your aim is not to win all of the time, but to at least win more times than you lose. Increase your chances of success by turning probability into your friend, as opposed to your mortal enemy.

With the rising popularity of online casinos, land based casinos are losing more and more customers. As an online casino player, I can understand why online casinos have become so popular. Here are a few of the reasons why online casinos are far more superior than their land based competitors:
1) Sheer Convenience
No more having to drive to the casino and worry about finding a car parking spot. At home, all you need is a computer and you are already at the casino. The best part about gambling at home is that you can do it 24 hours a day because online casinos never close.
2) No More Dress Code
You can gamble in your pyjamas if you choose to do so. Inside your home, you are the boss and you can wear whatever you like, which is pretty handy when you aren’t in the mood to dress up, especially after those long tiring days at work.
3) Less Distractions
You can focus more on winning your games without being distracted by loud music, drunk patrons, or other unnecessary background noises. In order to win more often, especially on high concentration games such as poker and blackjack, you need to be in a quiet and silent atmosphere.
I’d never discount the idea of visiting a land based casino, as they are very reputable and high quality establishments. However, if all you want to do is win money, then I recommend giving online casinos a try. Not only are they more convenient and offer less distractions, in a lot of ways, they are also just as entertaining.

The other night I went to the liquor store about a half hour before the big jackpot and it was lottery mania. 10 people in line for one register, and I was the only one of them not buying a ticket.
It all went smoothly until the women 1 person in front of me tried to walk out of the store without typing in her pin number after buying cigarettes and $10 worth of tickets. Rookie Clerk. After she was chased down and returned to complete the purchase, the next guy requested twenty-five $1 tickets. Wasted.
People addicted to scratchers are the worst of all, the most clueless and addicted of all gamblers. I have had over $40 worth of tickets bought for me as gifts over my lifetime and I think the return was probably $4 more worth of tickets. Why people play these things and think they can win, I’ll never know.
I refuse to throw my money away playing scratchers or the lottery but I do love to gamble, and like many other young Americans but my game of choice is poker.
First and foremost, I chose to play poker because I decide that I have a decent enough chance of playing and walking away with more than I came with, plus having a good time too.
Compared with scratchers and the state lottery, poker is completely different. Strategy and skill are rewarded in poker, where chance is the only factor in the outcome of the other two gambles.
When you play scratchers or the state lotto, your chance of winning are the same as everyone else. As it relates to Poker, it would be impossible to argue that over the long run every person that plays has the same chance of winning or losing. Experience, knowledge, and a correct strategy are weighted much more heavily in Poker, and the game is more complex.
In other words, it is very easy to see that poker is not a game of chance. Unfortunately, our politicians don’t accept this and have banned financial transactions with gambling web sites that provide “games of chance” for real money.
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was slipped into a port security measure at the last minute of the legislative session by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. No real debate ever took place on the gambling part of the bill, as it was slipped in right before the final vote of the port security measure after debate had commenced.
Given the security ramifications of the bill, it was considered a “gimmie” to pass given the end of the congressional session and Frist took advantage and overexerted his influence as an appeal to the hardcore right-wing crowd right before election time.
It is a threat to freedom and democracy when one overzealous politicians can restrict the freedom of all Americans with no direct vote, and little to no debate. The bill also has economic ramifications including higher fees at the bank and has done little so far to stop people from gambling on the Internet.

A casino slot machine is one of the most popular casino games. Traditional slot machines are coin-operated machines with three or more reels. They spin when a lever on the side of the machine is pulled. The machines include a currency detector that validates the coin or the cash inserted to play. The machine typically pays off based on patterns of symbols visible on the front of the machine when it stops. Modern computer technology has resulted in many variations on the slot machine concept. Currently casino slot machines are the most attracting gambling method in casinos and they generate about 70% of the average casino’s revenue.
A person playing a casino slot machine purchases the right to play by inserting coins or cash, into a designated slot on the machine. The machine is then activated by means of a lever or button. The game itself may or may not involve skill on the player’s part — or it may create the illusion of involving skill without actually being anything else than a game of chance. The object of the game is to win money from the machine. The game usually involves matching symbols, either on mechanical reels that spin and stop to reveal one or several symbols, or on a video screen. The symbols are usually brightly colored and easily recognizable, such as images of fruits, and simple shapes such as bells, diamonds, or hearts.
Most games have a variety of winning combinations of symbols displayed on the machine. If a player matches a combination as per the game rule then the slot machine pays the player cash or some extra games. Casino slot machines are programmed to pay out as winnings between 82 to 98 percent of the total waged money. The minimum payout percentage varies among jurisdictions and is typically established by law or regulation. For example, the minimum payout percentage in Nevada is 75 percent and 83 percent in New Jersey. The winning patterns on slot machines and the frequency at which they appear are carefully selected to deliver a certain percentage of the cost of play to the “house” (the operator of the slot machine), while returning the rest to the player during play. Suppose that a certain casino slot machine costs $1 per spin. It can be calculated that over a sufficiently long period, such as 1,000,000 spins, that the machine will return an average of $950,000 to its players.
There is a probability factor to the placement of casino slot machines on the gaming floor, but the highest paying machines are not often placed in high-traffic areas. Typically, machines of similar payback percentages are grouped together, with 1% or less difference between the groups of machines.
