3. It should be proven. Ask the system owner to show a track record of the system It’s true that past performance is no indicator of future performance, but still, it’s better to invest in a system that had past success than in one that hadn’t any.

3. IT WILL GENERATE TAX REVENUE AND CONTRIBUTE TO OUR ECONOMY.
The games are already happening and the U.S. government is missing out on a significant source of revenue. It is estimated that as much as $3.3 billion dollars a year is lost due to the fact that internet poker is technically illegal, and un taxable.

U.S. corporations are also banned from entering the lucrative online poker market. These corporations are the places where Americans work, and invest and the longer they are forced to sit on the sidelines, the more money our country is losing.

4. IT CAN BE BETTER REGULATED TO PROTECT CONSUMERS.
Next, the American government would be able to license site operators and most importantly regulate them to protect consumers. One side affect of the new legislation is that online poker is essentially forced more underground. Are You A Fish?

I guess we all know that in poker a new or particularly poor player is, er, fondly known as a fish. You don’t want to be a fish – you want to spot the poker fish and fleece them of all their chips. But how do you know if YOU are the fish?

Well, there are a few signs to look out for. The first one being that if you can’t spot the fish at the tables, then YOU are the fish. So be careful.

Just how do you spot the poker fish. A poker fish is often a calling station – a player who limps in to far too many hands with practically and two cards and then hopes to get lucky on the flop. If they don’t get lucky on the flop, they will generally fold to almost any bet.

A poker fish loves to show his cards after winning a hand. After winning any hand. Take careful notice of the cards they show – it’s vital information which you can use against the fish.

A poker fish likes to use the chat facility to type rubbish like nice hand, well played or other general chatter. If they are typing, they can’t be concentrating too hard on playing poker. A poker fish is often blinded by an ace if dealt one. They’ll think they just can’t lose if the have an ace in their hand. And even more so if another appears on the flop. Watch their ace-rag get eaten up by another players (hopefully yours) AQ.

If you are doing any of the above, then you are the fish my friend.

So, how do you beat a fish

Don’t bluff them. A poker fish may just call your massive raise in the hope that they’ll make that miracle gutshot straight and then go and make it.

Sometimes of course they will hit that miracle gutshot or backdoor flush draw. That’s just poker my friend. Nothing you can do about it. When this happens try to keep calm on not go in tilt.

Get them on the hook and play them. You’ve hit your trips on the flop, your fishy friend has nothing and the board shows no straight, flush or other hand that may beat yours developing. Bet out and let your friend call you – milk more chips off them on the turn and river.

When you do take a huge pile of chips off your new best friend at the tables, make them feel a bit better about it – quickly type UL in to the chat box. They’ll think you mean it and love you for it.

When the fish bite back – muck your cards and wait for another opportunity. One pretty certain sign that the fish has a real hand is when they bet big. If they come back in over the top of you then you may feel more than reasonably certain they are holding a serious hand.

And when you do spot the fish keep notes on that player. Then next time you come across them you’ll know who to target, what their style is and how to combat it. Keeping player notes applies to any opponent at the poker table, not just the fish.

I played in a single table sit and go just last night and there was one fish in particular at the table who was easy to spot as they met the above two characteristics often limping in and always showing cards. This fish actually did quite well to get in to the money with myself and another player. I knew that if I got heads-up against the fish I’d win the tournament – and I did. How? By constantly applying pressure and forcing my fishy friend to fold. It was almost too easy.

Don’t be the fish. Beat the fish.

Albert R. Hibbs was a noted mathematician. In 1949, he and fellow graduate student Roy Walford, took time away from school and went to Nevada. Their aim was to study the roulette wheel bias of Las Vegas and Reno casinos, then exploit that mathematical “edge” and win big. They were said to have made over $42,000. in their schemes.

The idea of a biased wheel is not new. Because some roulette wheels are not properly balanced, the ball is often thrown into some areas more than others; more than random mathematical probability. By studying the wheel and it’s results for a long period, certain numbers show a higher percentage of winners than others, and they are bet upon more frequently by those who gather and analyze this information.

Joe Jagger was a British engineer who, in the late 1800’s, earned the title of: The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo. (Yes, he is a distant relative of Mick Jagger.) Another gambler and possibly more famous still, was Charles Wells. He too had the title. Both gamblers found and exploited biased roulette wheels in Monte Carlo’s famed “Casino.” Wells was also a con man responsible for bilking hundreds of people on bogus inventions. He died broke in France, after having spent several prison terms in two different countries.

As late as 1970, a woman named Carol Jarecki and her husband studied and played roulette wheels in Monte Carlo and San Remo, making a series of very successful runs on those biased roulette wheels. So even in this “modern era” of gambling, it seems that there are still a few places where the roulette wheels are not checked nearly often enough.

The new way casinos avoid bias is by recording every spin on a computer program. The program analyzes then reports any bias to casino management. Once reported, the wheel is serviced and the bias is removed. This system is used in only the larger casinos, but it’s a safe bet that even the smaller casinos would simply send you packing if you won too much. Bias or no.

Poker is also a game of controlled emotion as it requires opponents to think logically when there is lots of money at stake. Any time money gets involved, human beings are naturally inclined to get emotional. People generally get huge highs when they are winning money and huge lows when they are losing. Tilt occurs when a player lets the lows of poker distract him from making good decisions. Tilt is a result of a player letting his emotions get in the way of his decisions. There are many causes of tilt that come into play when you are at the poker table. Bad beats occur when a player is ahead and a miracle card falls to give his opponent the best hand. If a player is inexperienced and unable to control his emotions, one bad beat can cause him to go on tilt and lose his entire stack. Aggression can also cause your opponent to go on tilt. If you are constantly raising your opponent and he is not picking up any hands to play back, he can take a turn for the worse and start playing terrible. Against tight players, you can purposely keep raising them until they go on tilt. Once you notice they are not playing their normal game, you can slow down and play better hands.

I guarantee your opponent will start playing marginal hands in an attempt to win back all of his lost money. Players often go on tilt when things are not going the way they want. Players who are used to winning get really frustrated when they are not winning as much as they expect. They will often try moves they don’t usually make and end up giving away their chips. Ghana Casinos

The list of Ghana’s casinos is quite short: not a surprise for a poor African country. Actually, by the standards of Africa, Ghana isn’t actually all that poor. It was the first African country to shake off colonialism in 1957, led by Kwame Nkrumah. The next 30 or so years were the usual struggle against the economic incompetence of the various rulers, including the almost traditional military coup. Things finally got sorted out in the 1990’s, and the economy is now growing again, giving the inhabitants roughly twice the income per head that is usual in Africa.

Still, that level of income does not support a thriving gaming industry, so as we say, the list of Ghana’s casinos is still quite short.

In fact, there are four in the entire country.

Another is that while there is a tourist industry, it is aimed at African-Americans coming to see their roots, looking at the slave forts, and so on along the coast. This really isn’t a market that is known to gamble very much.

In fact, for much of the area’s history there have really only been two exports: slaves (The Ashanti Kingdom was a prime source for the Arab slavers long before whites reached the area), and gold: indeed, the country still boasts one of the largest mines and gold companies in the world, again named after the ancient kingdom, Ashanti.

Gambling and casinos have traditionally done very well in mining areas, but this is changing as the business becomes more capital intensive: no longer are there armies of well-paid miners tearing at a hillside. Now it is very few people and large numbers of very expensive machines. Machines, as you may have noted, do not gamble.

So, there are the reasons why the list of Ghana’s casinos is so short. A poor country, based on agriculture, the tourist industry is not oriented to a market that is likely to gamble, and there are very few local workers who make enough to gamble.
